Pride conversion to electric vehicle

Status: Completed In Research Process
Goals: To replace gasoline with non-pollutant fuels
Client: SAIPA
Starting date:  Oct., 1996
Finishing date: July, 1998
Air pollution and finite fossil fuel resources have served as the driving force behind efforts to considerably extend research and development on electric vehicles in recent years. In line with the world research centers, the Automotive Industries Research and Innovation Center began in 1997 working on an order from SAIPA to design and develop the first Iranian electric vehicle.
The vehicle is a converted type of Pride in which electric power train, storage batteries, electric and electronic systems have been installed to take the place of spark ignition system.
