Non-Destructive Crash Lab :

The car crash test is required to validate the crash analysis and
subsequently to assure passenger safety. Generally, crash tests are
divided into two individual categories, destructive and
nondestructive.
In nondestructive crash, there is no damage for the body of vehicle
and car crash condition is simulated using high acceleration that is
produced by a servo hydraulic system.
Via this simulation, passenger's safety equipment such as safety
belt (according to ECE 16), seat and its anchorage (according to
ECE17) are tested.
Because of the very short duration of test (about 100 ms), all test
conditions are
recorded on film with the help of special lighting and high speed
camera system and finally the film is analyzed by motion analysis
system.
Considering hi-tech systems available, this laboratory has a high
potential ability to perform special projects and provide services
in connection with passenger safety.
Meanwhile, this laboratory has been recognized as partner laboratory
of TUV Austria. |
